Troon Country Club Golf Memerships are on Sale

Troon Country Club golf memberships are on sale until May 1, 2012.

Golf Memberships are ONLY $40,000. This sale is for a non-equity option and is a $15,000 savings. It will still get you full member voting rights and family privileges. The dues are $950 monthly with a $1,200 annual food and beverage minimum.

The second option is for the Intermediate Golf Membership that is offered to those that are 21-50 years old. This one is also ONLY $40,000 and is a non-equity membership. It will have normal family privileges but will not have voting rights. As of the age of 51, this membership will be converted to a regular golf membership. The dues are $650 per month with the same $1,200 annual food and beverage minimum.

Desert Highlands Golf Club Charity Event

The Desert Highlands Golf Club in Troon Scottsdale has a charity event scheduled on Wednesday, April 11th. The proceeds will benefit the Roberta K. Pappas Memorial Scholarship Fund.

This is a very exciting event as it will be held on Desert Highlands’ unique, 18-hole Putting Course. The golf tournament will begin at 2:30pm with a fun party for all attendees starting at 5pm. There will be hors d’oeuvres, on-course cocktails, music, a raffle and auction. There is something for everyone so it’s a great event to come out and enjoy giving back.

New Resort Area Planned for Troon North Area

A new 220-acre residential resort is being proposed in northeast Cave Creek. The project is called Enchanted Canyon Resort and will be located at Continental Mountain Drive and 72nd Street. This is approximately 15 minutes Northwest of Troon North. It includes single-family residential lots and a resort facility with a wellnesss spa and casitas. The plan also includes a plaza/amphitheater outdoor venue.

The project includes 30 single-family home sites ranging from 1 to 5 acres, according to the proposed plan. The main resort facility is planned to have about 123 rooms in the main building and 57 individual casitas on the hillsides and canyons on the eastern side of the property.

The developer is requesting a General Plan amendment and rezoning of the property, which is zoned residential for lots of more than 4 acres. This is causing some criticism from neighbors who want to preserve the current zoning of one home per 4 acres.

New Troon North Park Has Officially Opened

The new George “Doc” Cavalliere Park has officially opened as of last weekend. It is located in the heart of Troon North and is a great addition to the area. Initially, city planners had expected to finish by October 2011 but we are happy it is here just in time for the beautiful Scottsdale spring weather.

The official park hours are from sunrise to 10:30pm every day of the week. It includes a shaded playground for the kids, two lighted basketball courts, picnic areas, two ramadas, hiking trails and more. We initially reported about this park in August of last year. The Troon Scottsdale Real Estate Market Ended Strong in 2011

The Troon Scottsdale Real Estate market, along with the general Metro Phoenix market had a strong ending in 2011. ARMLS has released the numbers for last year and they show that we are definitely on our way to a recovering real estate market.

There were 104,725 properties sold in the Metro Phoenix area during the real estate bubble in 2005. This is the highest number of sales within the last 10 years. The 2011 property sales are not too far behind though which shows great progress for our real estate market. In 2011 there were 101,436 total properties sold. Buyers are flocking to the Scottsdale and Phoenix area.

The average months supply of inventory (MSI) is at 3.81 which is very close to the 2003 average of 4.31. Analysts consider mid 2002 to 2004 as our last normal markets.

Even the average days on the market has decreased. The average days on the market for the entire Phoenix area started off in 2011 at 113 but ended the year at 95. This shows that the good homes really are selling fast.

Troon North Will Soon Have An Eco-Resort and New Community in the Area

The Troon North area will soon have an eco-resort and new housing development by Lyle Anderson. Papers have been filed with the City of Scottsdale to begin the 324 resort and residential unit project on 218 acres of land. It will be located between The Scottsdale Golf Club and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.

Lyle Anderson is a very well known developer in the North Scottsdale area. He is best known for developing Desert Mountain and Desert Highlands. His goal once again is the create a new trend by bringing the first eco-resort to Scottsdale. The resort and community will focus on the preservation of the natural desert surroundings while promoting the overall health and wellness of its guest and residents.

Now is the Best Time of Year to Visit Troon Scottsdale

Now is the best time of year to visit Troon Scottsdale. Between now and February there is a lot of excitement over the variety of events that come to the Scottsdale area. There is truly something for everyone this time of year.

December 30th the Insight Bowl will be held at 8:00pm. This event is just 20 minutes from Troon at the ASU Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ.
January 2nd is the Fiesta Bowl at 6:30pm. This college tournament is about 45 minutes from the North Scottsdale area at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. If you’re not a fan of the actual football game then bring the family out to Central Phoenix for the excitement of the Fiesta Bowl Parade on December 31st at 11:00am.
January 13th to the 15th Troon North Golf Club will participate in the Scottsdale Open ameteur golf tournament. This tournament will take place on Three of the best courses in North Scottsdale over these three days.
January 15th is the PF Chang’s Rock N’ Roll Marathon. The marathon starts at 7:30am and the half marathon starts at 8:30am.
January 16th through the 22nd is the world famous Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction at West World, just 10 minutes from the Troon area.
January 30th through February 5th is the Phoenix Open golf tournament at the TPC of Scottsdale just 15 minutes from Troon.
